My Little City Blog

Nights and days pass in Gotham. Each area is distinct and posing its own reality…coffee shop, pizza parlor, and dry cleaners…all the same but different…in that they create many different realities. This blog is my reality.

Politico?

As you know, we here at My Little Blog don't support politics and think most people who are into politics are odd. Also, we never shill for either party because they are not to the left enough for The Rooster.

Yet, we do acknowledge that many bloggers are into the stuff. With that being said, I wanted to list some blogs dealing with politics from our group.

VERBOSITIES
This is a great group of conservatives and liberals. I like what is going on over here at this blog. I would pay this place a visit if you have a chance.

Iggy
Is doing some funny things with politics but also giving you some good reading so go hit him up. Recently he's been criticized for not killing work productivity, but sometimes those videos keep me smiling and not thinking about work so he's killing work time just in another way.

Mrs. Otis
Has thrown her hat into the politics circle. I have to admit, and I say this with hoping not to offend those before who have done as such...but she is a short white woman who has spoken pretty openly about race and I find it refreshing and I salute her for it. I'm not only talking about her Obama write-up on race...look at her backlog of writings.

Human Head
Although he is playing father right now...well I love his rants. I sit there sometimes and think two things...this guy has too much anger and too much time on his hands.

B-Lister Bracelet
When looking for all things Detroit check out Bobby. Sure he is a jokester and all...but the truth is that Bobby loves his Detroit and wants the city to get better; so if you want to talk to him serious about the issues in the city write him an email. There are times when he writes some back-handed humor about the situation but if you read between the lines you will get it.

Random

I am currently listening to Timmy McGraw and I’m still pissed that he was able to land Faith.

Moving on.

Red Light – Green light is just an awesome game. So is Duck-Duck-Goose. Why did the Mexican kid never get chosen to be The Goose? I guess probably because I have some wheels, Kid.

I need to start to get back to my food blog. Serious, I loved posting pictures of crap that I ate on that thing.

I thought this was going to be a good post but I’m starting to see that it is going to crap already.

I seen this Asian girl crying at the bar last night. It was sad seeing her cry then I see her tear into her boyfriend then I felt bad for the guy. Serious, to be there in a bar and be humiliated by your crying girlfriend who doesn’t want to leave the bar is a sad-sad thing. If I were him I would have just given her a couple of shots of Tequila to settle her down. I remember when parents use to do that to their kids when I was growing up. Give him a beer so he would settle down. Ummm…I think that lead to many of kids in my neighborhood growing up alcoholics. Yet, I think their parents would disagree and blame the kid for being a drunk, it had nothing to do with the daily beer you would give the kid to settle him down.

There is this man in my neighborhood who is always asking me for a dime. Serious, he just sits there and is like, do you have a diiiiiiiime? I think he’s probably asked me this a million times over the years. I never give him a dime and I don’t feel bad for it. Serious. I think to myself, do something like juggle a ball or tell me a damn joke and I will give you a dollar or five.

I’ve been meeting some interesting people as of late, a few lesbians, a welder, and a female pole dancer. They are all interesting to say the least and the road to all their sexual orientation or jobs fascinates me. I can’t go into details for they didn’t allow me to discuss it on this blog and none of them even know I have a blog, but just in case they google me they will find that mum is the word and that is gold in my book.

Well I have to cut this post short. I figured I would just write random crap for people to read. Everyone likes to know what the A-Lister is up to.

Spanglish

I think most of the time in English...yes, even when I speak in Spanish

My Dad says he thinks in Spanish about 80% of the time

My Mom...not sure.

My Sister...we don’t talk about that type of stuff

I listen to Spanish music about 50% of the time, country about 30%, jazz about 10%, rap about 5%, classical about 4%, and other music 1% of the time.

My barber doesn’t speak a word of English, been cutting my hair for 12 years and we never speak...I sit in seat and he cuts

Most of my friends speak both Spanish and English, I speak to them in Spanish...they speak to me in English

I can switch from English to Spanish and Spanish to English mid-sentence
My Mom says one or the other for mixing brings bad habits

Humbling

“God bless those two little Mexican Men and what they did in the ring.”
Joe Speaker via text after the Vazquez v. Marquez III fight.

When a fanatic of everything sport texts you like that...well you know you did just witness a great fight. As we all know, The Rooster can pontificate when it comes to boxing. In this case, I can only say, I was humbled into silence.

The ebbs and flows of this fight and the brutality were close to heart stopping. Come to think of it, my heart did stop a few times. The purest of boxing fans loved the sweet science on display and the ability of each fighter to impose one’s will and game plan, only to have to readjust it to one’s opponents changes. The changes were small such as double jab as opposed to single and only could be seen by the trained eye. But the brutality of the adjustments could be seen by all.

In closing, I can go on and on about this fight. But like I said, I was humbled by these two men willing to give their life for my entertainment. It is yet to be determined what will become of these warriors. I have seen many of a man come out of that ring never to be the same mentally after a brutal battle. I hope that these two men will have their light shine a little longer for the epic trilogy they gave me and us as boxing/sports fans.

Also, if you want to get a wrap of the fight I send you here:
NOMAS. The boys at No Mas do a great job in following the Sweet Science. I would also visit their shirt shop for they do have some of the dopest shirts around that you can purchase. These bloggers are NY'ers and have a bit of street cred to them so visit their sight and check out their small movies they make about boxing and also check out their art work. What I like about this site is that they are doing their writing and grinding form the ground up...they have no corporate sponsors or don't come from tons of money. So big shouts to the No Mas crew for keeping it real.
