My Little City Blog

Nights and days pass in Gotham. Each area is distinct and posing its own reality…coffee shop, pizza parlor, and dry cleaners…all the same but different…in that they create many different realities. This blog is my reality.

To My Little Friends

I was thinking of how I could address the events in London. Besides NYC I consider London to be my favorite city. I have a deep love for the place. I was thinking of what I could say or do. Yet, what comes out of my mouth is anger so I don't want to go there. I just wanted to post the following to the terrorists: FUCK YOU!!!!!

TONIGHT!!!

Not sure if all of you are in the city anymore? In any case, tonight I will be having drinks and checking out this band if you all are interested. The band is called: 'The Y'all Americans' and they play @ Brother Jimmy's every Tuesday from 8-11 pm. I hope that you all can make it for some drinks and fun. The old Joaquin will be coming out so I just thought I would let you know. Guess what...I'm even going to make it to the East Side for this get together. Make sure and stop by and invite some friends...should be fun. Please do not respond to all if you write me back letting me know you are going to stop by.

Kind Regards,
Joaquin

Random Night Out

Crap. I have been taking some time away from writing about my times in the city and they have been plenty as of late. First, I have to write about a night out on the town with Marisa…oh, and The General. We started our time at Dragon Fly (Bleeker and McDougal. I guess this is a new Thai Restaurant in the village. I didn’t think the food was bad, but it wasn’t all that either. There are very few places where I eat Thai that I’m like…oooohhhh yeah! I suppose I should have done a report on this place in my food blog (which you should read, it’s linked up on the right side) but no need…somewhat uneventful. We had a spread of Beef Cubes and Chicken Cilantro….oh, the Chicken Cilantro was o.k. to be honest, I like cilantro so it was a nice change from plain chicken.

Oh, there was an older man eating with us. It was this group of different friends that John had that all brought other friends. In any case, one girl (hot Vietnamese girl) brought her father who was the life of the party. He was telling us how in Vietnam you can get a haircut with all the (female) trimmings in the back room if you wanted. I thought this was funny…then he went on to talk about his times in Vegas and as he stated, “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” all the while raising his eyebrows.

From there it was the old crew. Myself, Marisa “ The OC” Callahan, and John “The General” Lee. It was a good time and nice and relaxed. We had some drinks and just took note of our lives and where we were. I figured that not much had changed in my life but it has…I have to admit…I’m getting old. In any case, it was a fun time had by all and nothing over the top. We did stop by at the Belgium Beer Bar off of 4th St. which was cool. Like I said, nothing too over the top but nice and fun.

Poker and Booze

Went and hit the town with Alberto “Mr. San Antonio” Puentes and John “The General” Lee on Thursday night after some poker. Might want to read my other blog about what went on during our poker session. I didn’t write about the huge beat that Beto put on the Sox-Lover.

In any case, we figure to hit one of our old drinking holes on Spring St. We get in and there are a ton of beautiful girls…but after we get our drinks we notice that they are gone. Yes, three ugly MOFO’s just walked in the room so all the hot chicks must leave the building. Does that suck or what? I any case, we end that joint and head up the street to another joint on the side of Spring Street.

This place was a good time and we partied all night long there. I think I ended up getting home like at 5:00 am after the train took forever. Nice place to dance and good music, although I felt the DJ didn’t out perform the DJ from Plan B. If you all want good 80’s R&B music you have to hit Plan B…the place rocks! Good DJ that plays a good mix of Guy, BBD, and others.

Oh, I think the choice of drink for the night was nothing cheap here…no, we had the top shelf crap known as Crown Royal. Yes, this is top shelf to Mexicans so enjoy when you drink it because you are drinking the best. If a Mexican purchases this for you, well then he’s going all out and is either a good friend or wants to get you into bed. You can choose depending on who is in your company.
